Tirumala – Tirumala Temple is a famous Hindu Temple located in the hill town Tirumala, near Tirupati in the Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the famous temples in the world and one of the largest visited temples in Inida, attracting about 40,000 to 80,000 pilgrims everyday (about 20-25 million people visits annually).
Tirupati -The word Tirupati is said to have been derived been from Tripathi. Tri is a Sanskrit word referring to Lord of Tripathy of the sacred hill. In Tamil translation, Tiru meansSacred and also referred to as Goddess Lakshmi and Pathi means Husband. So, it is known as the Sacred abode of Vishnu.
Few religious tourism attractions of Tirupati are-
ISKCON – The Lotus temple of Radha Govindji is also one of the largest ISKCON temples in India.
KAPILA THEERTHAM – This is known for the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and a sacred waterfall.
SRINIVASA MANGAPURAM- A temple dedicated to Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy also believed that this god will ward off marriage troubles.
ALAMELU MANGAPURAM – This is one of the most important temples of Tirupati, also associated with a belief that visit to Tirumala is incomplete without visiting this temple.
Srikalahasti – Kalahasti is located in Chittoor district which is nearer to Tirupati. This place is familiar due to the existence of Srikalahasteeswara Temple, and it is one of the most famous Shiva temples in South India. This Shiva temple was referred to as the Kailas of South India and dates back by 2000 years.
Kanipakam - Kanipakam is home to a popular Hindu temple of Lord Ganesha called as Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple. The other name of the temple is called as Sri Vara sidhi Vinayaka Temple which is significant for its purity and rich heritage. It is also one of the high revenue making temples of the state.
Vellore - Vellore is a city and the administrative headquarters of Vellore District in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu.Vellore has few good tourist attractions in the city, viz., Vellore Fort, Government Museum, Science Park, Vainu Bappu Observatory, Amirthi Zoological Park, Hindu religious places such as Jalakandeswarar Temple, Srilakshmi Golden Temple.
